There was a lot to exhibit at the Accra Men’s Fashion Week show, which took place on the May 25 at the Lifestyle Gallery on the Spintex Road in Accra.
This year’s event, which was hash-tagged #ManItUp, hosted some of the finest and creative men’s wear designers Africa has ever birthed.
The runway saw designers from Ghana, The Gambia, Ivory Coast, and Togo amongst others who exhibited their latest works from their collections.
This depicted the diversity and beauty of culture and gave fashion enthusiasts memories they will cherish for a very long time and as well as topics for critics to talk about and dissect for a very long time.
Some top-notch designers who participated were: F2K, Zango, Eketino, Yaw Bako Clothing, Ethnik Mode, Bushai Weave Collection, Larry Jay Couture, Wanted collection, Marie Val Hagan, Nicoline Gh, Paja among others. They had their creations strutted in on the runway by over forty male models from across the continent .
Awards went out to Larry Jay Couture for ‘Discovery designer’, Yaw Bako Clothing for ‘Emerging designer’ and Carlos Desalles from Ivory Coast for ‘Established designer.
Other awards on the night went to David Nii Otoo Lartey, winning the Discovey Model of the Year, Uthmam Bangura as the Emerging Model whiles Prince IB picked up the Honorary Model and Show Choreographer.
