Mr Flint Kwame Honour, a Banker has fed over 300 less privilege people on the street of Accra as part of his charity activities.
The charity activity dubbed “Reach With Me” saw friends and family of Mr Honour supporting in the distribution of nicely packed food with drinks and bottled water as part of his 33rd birthday celebrations.
Mr Honour told the Ghana News Agency that “usually during birthday celebrations, people have parties with friends and family. They make merry year in year out. I am not an exception but this year at 33, I want to do something different with my friends”.
He said the same friends he usually hang out with were now being invited to join him raise GHC3,300 to feed 330 less privileged on the streets of Accra.
“I made a public appeal to my friends on social media and about 40 people came on board donating money, time and other resources,” he added.
He said the outreached, which was coordinated by Judith Evans and Bayona from the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection kicked off at the Emmanuel Clinic bus stop, through to Shashie, Spanner, Airport, Opeibea, 37, National Theatre, Accra Rehabilitation Centre, Kawukudi and finally Dzowulu Junctions.
The Birthday celebrant said in all they gave out 350 packs to people including, street children, beggars, disabled and hawkers and the response was heart warming and “we were delighted we were able to put smiles on the faces of everybody we reached out to.”
He commended all who in many ways contributed towards the success of the project and to entreat all to emulate the act of giving because it touches the heart of God.
