Ghanaian rapper Michael Owusu Addo known in showbiz as Sarkodie has called on investors to pay attention to the untapped opportunities in the creative arts sector.
According to Sarkodie there are many opportunities in the creative arts sector that the corporate world could consider and invest in.
“We make good music, movies and other art works in the country but there are few marketing avenues for us and that has made the business very challenging,” he said.
Sarkodie was speaking at the TEDx Accra 2017, Africa Dialogues sessions held at the Accra International Conference Centre on Friday.
The programme focused on topics ranging from governance, human rights, education, infrastructure, public health, gender and income inequality, Africa’s economies and urban development towards helping our continent attain AGENDA 2063 and SDGs 2030.
This year’s conference themed ‘Dreams We Dare Not,’ saw policy makers, innovative business leaders, accomplished academics, leaders of civil society organisations and other distinguished individuals in attendance.
Other speakers at the programme Yasmin Kumi – founder of Africa Foresight group, Mo Issa -Writer, Entrepreneur and Humanitarian, Josephine Marie Godwyl – Founder World at Heart Ghana and Godwin Mawunyo Addo – CEO of Gradsoft Technologies Ghana.
