Crazy Patapaa’s One Corner song has emerged the only Ghanaian song in the 2017 list of Nigeria’s top ten most searched songs. More surprisingly, the track which was released just few months ago, ranked fourth on the list.
According to a search by Zionfelix, Patapaa’s One Corner beat other popular songs by famous Nigerian musicians such as Davido’s ‘If’, Runtown’s ‘Mad Over You’, Tekno’s ‘Go’ and the likes to make it to the fourth place on the latest ranking by Google Trends.
‘One Corner’ was the only Ghanaian tune to appear on the 2017 top ten most searched songs in Nigeria. Ironically, the same song ranked 8th in the top ten list of most searched songs in Ghana for the year 2017, with Shatta Wale‘s ‘Taking Over’ taking the number 1 position.

A Quick Trip Down Memory Lane of Patapaa’s One Corner Song
Just like many speculated, the ‘One Corner’ song and it’s accompanying crazy dance appears to be waning with the same force with which it shined. Few months ago on the Ghana music scene, it was all ‘One Corner’ or nothing else!
Millions of Ghanaians had gone berserk over the song which was the first ever release of young and upcoming Ghanaian musician, Patapaa Amisty. The trend speedily spread to other West African countries, especially Nigeria and the world at large like the California wildfires.
The craze soon graduated into a challenge whereby people made personalized videos showing where they are killing themselves at different places or spots with the ‘One Corner’ gyration and posting it online for the viewing pleasure of all. It also became a favorite track at celebrations ranging from birthday parties to wedding ceremonies.
While many, especially the youth and entertainment personalities fully embraced the ‘One Corner’ song, some cool headed Ghanaians have grossly condemned the music and its dance, describing it as demeaning, ignoble, deplorable, foolish, seductive, satanic, and what have you.
However, it would not at all be wrong to deem the critics’ stance right, considering the number of lives that have been lost to the outrageously crazy music.
