The Koforidua Assemblies of God Church pastor Prophet Albert Asihene Agyarkwa who also happens to be the general overseer of Prophet Albert Agyarkwah Ministry has called on churches and other well meaning Ghanaians to as matter of urgency donate to inmates of the various prisons especially the Koforidua prisons as the good books admonishes Christians to give.
Prophet Albert Asihene made this statement in an interview with Citi News after he donated a polytank to the Koforidua prisons service to help solve their water challenges.
Prophet Albert Asihene Agyarkwa said, “a lot of people disregard and look down upon convicts in our society but we must know that they are also humans. Some have been convicted falsely others who are there also committed crimes but they are in there to get some form of training to reform them and shape them to better humans.”
“The last time I came here I didn’t like their conditions at all, they informed me that they are in need of a poly tank so I decided to give it to them on my birthday and I believe this poly tank will help reduce their water crises.”
“It is written in the Good Book; when God asked that when I was in prison, you did not visit me, this is the reason why individuals, churches, schools, private and the civil society should also try their best to visit these inmates as some of their relatives have abandon them”
The prophet also ceased the opportunity to fellowship with the inmates and also threw a party for the inmates to climax his birthday and promised them of regular visit to donate more to them.
On his part the Eastern Regional deputy prisons commander chief superintendent Joseph Asabre who received the donation was full of praise to the kind gesture from the man of God and called for other churches to emulate.
“We lack a lot of things here and I must say this poly tank will go a long way to solve our water problems when ever the water company cuts supply to us. We are however grateful and will plead with private and other civil society to also come to support the in mates.”
