Members of the Netherlands Alumni Association of Ghana (NAAG) over the weekend joined the Dutch community to stage the maiden King’s Day Health Walk in Ghana.
The Walk, which was to conclude activities of Orange Week, was organized by NAAG in collaboration with the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Accra.
Joining the Walk, which began from Ayi Mensah in the Greater Accra Region to Aburi in the Eastern Region via the Akwapim Ridge, was the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Ron Strikker.
Mr Strikker expressed joy at the exercise, showering praise on the executive of NAAG for coming up with such an idea.
He pledged support for such an exercise, promising to join the next one.
President of NAAG Daniel Tibu said the underlying reason for the walk was to create awareness about the King’s Day Celebration in Ghana.
“It was also to bring the Dutch community and Ghanaians who have had a touch with the Netherlands together.”
Mr Tibu also said the exercise was to grow membership for NAAG.
