Okwawu United have been praised for their efforts in helping victims during Wednesday night’s accident involving Asante Kotoko’s team bus.
The bus carrying the entire technical and playing body rammed into a parked truck near Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region.
One person, the Deputy Equipment Officer, lost his life.
The injured were rushed to the Holy Family Hospital while those in critical condition were later transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
In its statement of support in Kotoko’s grieving moment, the Premier League Board (PLB) commended Division One side Okwawu United for making “their bus available to transport injured Kotoko players to Kumasi”.
The Board also commended all “who assisted Kotoko during the difficult moment”.
The Porcupine Warriors were returning from 0-1 loss to Inter Allies in the Ghana Premier League.
Their next match against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak has been cancelled.
Clubs have been directed to wear red and black arm bands while a minute’s silence will be observed at all centers this weekend to pay tribute to the departed.
