Odartey Lamptey on June 14, 2017, won a lawsuit in which his estranged wife was seeking to gain half of his wealth and properties. The court ruled that Odartey Lamptey’s ex wife had engaged in adultery because all the three children she delivered for her husband were not his. The Court had rejected Gloria’s request for half of Odartey’s property, including the seven-bedroom mansion at East Legon.
The Court which gave Gloria 30 days to vacate the Legon apartment, however, gave her Odartey’s three-bedroom house which is located at Dome in Accra.
But sources revealed that Gloria Appiah wants to take possession of the East Legon seven-bedroom mansion. The judgment according to sources did not sit down well with the adulterous wife who has appealed the case.
It had been a long bitter divorce battle between two estranged lovers. It was a case questioning the paternity of the three children of the footballer.
After sensing infidelity in his marriage, former Ghana international Odartey Lamptey opted for a DNA test which subsequently proved that his three children with Gloria, were not biologically his. This had led to the divorce case where Gloria accused him of being infertile. She had been of the defence that Lamptey asked her to sleep with other men to get pregnant for him due to his impotency.
However, Lamptey proved to the whole world he was not impotent when he had his first baby with his fiance, actress Ruweida Yakubu. Amid the devastating tussle, Odartey met Ruweida with who he had his first child in 2014, during the heat of the case. The couple welcomed their second child in August 2016.
