The organizers and producers of the yearly National Science and Maths Quiz competition, Primetime Limited, successfully secured an injunction on Friday against a new play ‘National Science and Maths Quiz’.
The play was scheduled to be staged at the National Theater on Saturday.
The play was put together by Nyansapo Productions Limited.
According to Primetime Limited, it is “neither associated with nor affiliated to Nyansapo Productions Limited and have not authorized nor aided the said Nyansapo Productions to mount a play to depict any aspects of the National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ)”.
The restraining order was secured at an Accra High Court presided over by Justice Patience Mills-Tetteh.
In a statement signed by Managing Director Nana Akua Ankomah-Asare, Primetime Ltd said it won’t condone any attempt to “deride or discourage any participant or school from being part of this noble joint effort to improve the quality of STEM education in Ghana”.
