Two more bodies have been found following flash floods in the Northern Region on Tuesday.
A little girl and a boy, 13, went missing after heavy rains on Tuesday.
A woman, whose name has been given as Hajia Fati, was pulled away in her car by the floods. She was later confirmed dead.
District Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in Sagnerigu Sulemana Musah confirmed the retrieval of the two bodies.
The body of the girl, Haliya Alhassan, a pupil of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) School in Tamale, was found at the confluence of the Fuo River in the Region, 3news.com’s correspondent said on Wednesday.
That of the 13-year-old boy was found in front of the Ponzali Rural Bank, 3news.com‘s Zubaida Ismail said.
A post-mortem has since been agreed to be conducted on the body of Hajia Fati before release to her family, our reporter quoted the Northern Regional police spokesperson, ASP Yusif Tanko, as saying.
A high-powered government delegation has left for the Region to visit families of the dead and victims.
The delegation is expected to assess the situation and report to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for “remedial action to be taken”.
