Her advice comes in handy as a total of 468, 053 Junior High School candidates sit this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examinations (BECE) across 1,702 examination centers. The examinations which started today June 5, 2017 will end on June 9.

Barbara Ayisi was addressing pupils writing their BECE papers in the Effutu area when he stopped in the community during a tour to some centres in the ongoing BECE in the Central Region.

Deputy Minister also counseled the pupils to always step into examination hall with confidence and trust God to take control of everything.

“I don’t want anyone to look down on him or herself,” she said as she recounts her days in public school and how she has been able to reach her current position.

Nonetheless, she told the pupils to be selective with the kind of questions they want to answer.

“Choose the right question, some questions are not meant to be answered, I am sure teachers have done a lot of talking on that.

“Do not go and say that oh I am sure this question is so difficult and that a lot of people may not tackle that question so I want to do it so that I would be considered. No one is going to consider you,” she said.

“If the question is easy and a lot of people are going to answer it please answer it and be free,” Barbara Ayisi advised.

She also cautioned the pupils to avoid examination malpractices.

The Deputy Minister presented “customized” maths set embossed with her picture to the pupils.
