Does anyone else agree with Fancy Gadam’s assertion that he deserves the “Artiste of the Year” award more than any artist?
While you chew on that, It will interest you to know that the Tamale-based artiste Fancy Gadam, born Mujahid Ahmed Bello, has described as clueless, those who say he does not deserve the prestigious ‘Artiste of the Year’ award.

Fancy who is said to be a ruler in the north made this assertion when he when he spoke to Joy News’ Doreen Avio, in a recent interview. Gadam described himself as the most eligible winner of the ultimate award at the annual Ghana Music Awards.
Fancy Gadam’s comments follow the recent complaints from stakeholders in the industry who raised concerns over his eligibility to receive the award.
Fancy won the Best New Artist of the Year award at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Manifest, Flowking Stone, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, Adina, Joe Mettle (Artiste Of The Year), Kofi Kinaata, Runtown and few others also won awards.

However, Mr. Gadman has been described as a local champion who has never crossed the boundaries of Ghana and for that reason, does not deserve such a prestigious award.
In essence, these critics are saying that an award of Artiste of the Year should be adjudged to someone who does not just rule a certain region but has a wider influence in the industry.
But Fancy Gadam, speaking in an interview on Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty, touted his efforts and his achievements adding that no artiste in Ghana has done what he has done.
The Tamale-based artiste is known for his popular claims of being bigger in the northern part of Ghana, than any other Ghanaian artiste.
Tamale’s Fancy boldly has been quoted to have said on several platforms that even though the likes of Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Samini, Stonebwoy and the rest are all bigger than him as a brand, he has more following in the North.
He has also said that he would pull the biggest crowd to a show in the northern region than any of the big stars around.
