A cameraman of Net 2 Television was among the victims of last Saturday’s explosion at Atomic Junction in Accra.
Seven persons died while 132 were injured at the Mansco Gas Station.
Mohammed Ashalley Yakubu is said to have fallen off Atomic Junction overpass, where he was filming the disaster from. He was hit by the second explosion.
He is said to have rushed to the scene to take coverage.
Leadership of Kencity Media, managers of Net 2 Television, was at the Flagstaff House on Monday to officially inform the president about the incident.
The deceased was apparently a member of the Presidential Press Corp.
He sympathised with the mother of the deceased who was in uncontrollable tears.
“What we have to do to help, we will do,” President Akufo-Addo assured the family.
“The money matter will be mine [to bear] because [Mohammed] was working for me.”
The deceased will be buried on Tuesday according to Islamic customs.
