A young outspoken member of the main opposition NDC party, Lord Hammah has said his withdrawal from NDC particularly under former President Mahama was based on the ‘decay of politics’ that took place under the former administration.
“What we hate is the present NDC and what we love is the future NDC, that is what we are fighting for now” he noted, saying it’s regrettable to watch NDC politics shifts inexorably away from the fundamental principles that birthed the party.
Speaking to host Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM, Lord Mahama said he disagrees with the kind of politics in NDC now, because “it is politics based on private gains, and reaction.”
He said if NDC has to gird itself for power as a force Ghanaians will reckon with in the political space, then there should be an ‘erosion of the entire leadership now.’
“The party brings forth the government, so the party is supreme. Now when the NDC came to power, they used the party as a sluggish whore, thrown it away. And when we lost they form a committee to ensure that the committee goes round to find ways and means to trick us again into deceit. Is this a committee that is going to do anything worthwhile? he questioned.
Lord Hammah is contemplating to step into contest to join the NDC leadership at the party’s next Congress, he told Kasapa FM Tuesday.
He holds the view that there must be a revival in the whole party structure to bolster confidence in the future of the main opposition NDC.
