It is alleged that some National Democratic Congress (NDC) functionaries are ready to pay as much ten thousand Ghana Cedis to each Assembly member in four districts of the Ashanti Region to reject the president’s nominees as DCEs for these areas.
The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) claim to have picked intelligence that detractors of government who are members of NDC are bent on plotting to pay the said amount as bribes to Assembly members of Ejura Sekyereduamase, Drobonso and New Edubiase all in Ashanti Region just to ensure the President’s nominees for the positions are rejected.
NPP communicators earlier accused the NDC Member of Parliament (MP) for Asawase in the region of orchestrating the rejection of one Alhaji Alidu Seidu to become MCE for Asokore Manpong Municipal Assembly.
According to NPP communicator Raphel Sarfo, prior to the rejection of Alhaji Alidu Seidu by Assembly members, NDC communicators in the region predicted the outcome of the election on their facebook walls.
He said the rejection of the nominee did not surprise them since they earlier picked signals Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak allegedly influenced some members to his side to vote against the nominee.
“Musa Abattoir posted they have eight members on their side and Alidu Seidu will get only seven. After the election, the results confirmed it.”
The NPP communicator said fresh information available to the party has it that the NDC General Secretary, Johnson Aseidu Nketiah and Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak are allegedly orchestrating another defeat for the remaining districts believed to be their strongholds.
Raphel Sarfo, a strong authority in the party also revealed that some NPP members who were denied the opportunity to be nominated as MMDCEs are doing everything humanly possible to ensure the nominees are not mandated by the assembly members
“Some of our own party members are also paying loosing bonuses so that if a nominee is rejected they will have the opportunity to come”. He alleged
He therefore threatened to name and shame them as the party plans to gather enough information on their activities which is inimical to the party and the President’s dream to bring development to the people.
