Ghana’s leading Telecommunications Service Provider, MTN ,has embarked on another benevolent exercise by donating GHC3, 000.00 and some assorted items to the National Chief Imam, Dr. Sheikh Usumanu Nuhu Sharabutu, towards the celebration of this year’s Eidul Fitr celebration
The telecom giant presented a cash of GHC3, 000.00, ten bags of rice, two cartons of vegetable oil, 10 boxes of mineral water, 10 Packs of soft drinks, a ram and airtime worth GHC500.00 to the Muslim leader.
In a brief statement while presenting the items, the Chief Information Officer of MTN Mr. Abbad Reda, extended season greetings from the staff and management of MTN and thanked Allah for the strong relationship that exist between his outfit and the Muslim community across the country. He also thanked Allah for guiding all the Muslims throughout the fasting period.
This he said, the donation forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to the Muslim community.
According to him, MTN has carried extensive corporate social interventions through its Foundation across the country. Through the MTN Ghana Foundation, we have improved access to healthcare and education.
And also, improving the economic livelihood of many by investing more than GHC 32.5 million in over 142 projects which are impacting the lives of more than four million Ghanaians.
This he said, in line with MTN’s vision of leading the delivery of bold new digital world to their customers, they will carry out data activation Eidul Fitr period at the vantage points to give their valued customers an experiential feel of benefits of the internet and data services.
Adding that, internet is the paramount tool for the promotion and optimization of business, education and commerce. Through the internet the youth can project a positive image for the Muslim youth in the country.
He said, MTN shall deploy their equipment to enhance the quality of the network to meet the numbers of expected at the eid grounds. This he said, the service will give subscribers greater speed.
He, therefore, encouraged non-subscribers of the network to get on board and thanked the Muslim community for doing business with MTN.
Receiving the items on behalf of the National Chief Imam, his Spokesman, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, expressed his profound gratitude to MTN for embarking on such benevolent exercise.
This he said, donation will go a long way to strengthen the company’s relationship with the Muslim community.
He prayed Allah’s peace on staff members of MTN and MTN’s operations.
