Member of Parliament for Juaboso in the Western Region, Kwabena Mintah-Akandoh, has questioned the integrity of some think-tanks in the country, describing them as ‘hypocritical’.
According to him, these think-tanks are inconsistent with their advocacies, noting that their actions and inaction clearly demonstrate they have been influenced by their political affiliation, hence their objectivity cannot be measured in their analysis.
Speaking on Takoradi-based Connect 97.1 FM in the Western Region Monday on the political talk show Asem Yi Dzi Ka, Mr Mintah-Akando observed some of the think-tanks who spoke against John Mahama and his NDC government have now gone mute on the same issues under the Akufo-Addo-led government.
He, however, failed to mention any think-tank that has been inconsistent, but said, “There were think-tanks advocating against the winner takes all, that the powers of the President were too much [under Mahama] but all of a sudden, we don’t hear those things again [under Akufo-Addo]”, he said adding “Consistency is important”.
Mr Mintah-Akandoh who is an NDC MP, has meanwhile asked those think-tanks to present analysis devoid of biases in other not to dent their credibility.
He urged them to be “very consistent irrespective of how the tables will turn…you are interested in the resolution of the substantive issue but not who is at the helms of affairs”
