The Minority in Parliamenton Friday observed a minute silent for the fast rising Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, aka Ebony, who died in a road accident Thursday night on the Sunyani-Kumasi highway.
Ebony who was returning from a visit to her mother who just returned from the UK, died in a car crash at Nyamebekyere near Abesewa in the Brong Ahafo Region when the Jeep she was travelling in rammed into a VIP bus.
She was in the company of three others- the driver of the Jeep, her friend and a military officer said to be her bodyguard. Three of them including Ebony died on the spot while the driver of the Jeep who is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
Addressing a press conference Friday February 9, Minority leader Haruna Iddrisu expressed the minority’s condolence to the family of the late songstress, whose death has shocked hundreds of people in Ghana and globally.
“Our deepest condolence goes to the family, fans and the entire nation; that a promising enterprising musician is gone,” he said.
The minority paid glowing tribute to the late songstress describing her the 20-year-old as an exceptional talent.
“We mourn the demise of that exceptionally talented and amazing young Ghanaian musician Ebony, Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng,” he said.
Haruna Iddrisu also commiserated with the 2 other persons who perished in the fatal accident.
