Patience had no plans of becoming a cobbler, but fate always has its own way of making the untended happen. Such is the story of 35 year old Patience who trades as a cobbler for a living.
Patience was once married to a Cobbler. Being a cleaner at the time, she would occasionally assist her husband in her spare time to mend shoes. Her husband passed away in 2014. She has since quit her job as a cleaner and taken over her late husband’s as a cobbler to fend for her family.
Patience lives at Adentan in the Greater Accra region and operates a make shift shop at Kanda where she offer services to the amazement of her clients.
Patience Boadi tells Media General’s Joycelyn Wood she has no regrets being a cobbler and that she enjoys every bit of the journey to becoming one.
As part of activities to celebrate International Women’s Day on Thursday March 8, Joycelyn visited Patience and came through with this uplifting report.
