Media General Ghana Limited, the umbrella organisation for TV3 Network, 3FM, Onua FM, MG Digital (3news.com), Akoma FM and Connect FM, is repositioning itself to become a leading media organisation in Africa.
There has been a revision of the entire operation and focus, as a result.
According to management, the new organisation “will be leaner and fitter, outsourcing non-core functions, and releasing the talent within to operate in a market that is fast moving, creative and dynamic”.
This has led to natural redundancies while other vacancies are expected to be created in future.
“Those who are affected have been consulted according to due process, and we look forward to moving forward with a motivated team that is going to shape the media and entertainment industry in Africa,” a statement from management said on Wednesday.
The changes have been instanced by the shift in the world of media, particularly in the consumption of information and entertainment.
“The Media General Group has an opportunity to build a world class media group that reflects this shift.
“Media General’s stated aim is to be the leading media organisation in Africa and become a genuine Global influencer by 2025.”
