The Abelenkpe Branch Supervisor of Marwako Fast Food, Jihad Chabaan, has been handed a one-year prison sentence for “maltreating” an employee.
The judgement was delivered on Wednesday by magistrate Victoria Ghansah.
Lawyers of Mr Chabaan had delayed judgement last Wednesday after claiming having reached an out-of-court settlement with the employee in question, Evelyn Boakye, whose face was dipped in blended pepper by the accused.
Judge Victoria Ghansah asked for time to study the details of the settlement reached. But it appears she was not satisfied, handing a prison sentence to the Arab, who had earlier told the court he didn’t understand English.
