The implementation of the Mandatory Towing Levy by the National Road Safety Commission and DVLA in conjunction with the Road Safety Management Limited (RSML) will totally neutralizes the positive effects and gains by the implementation of the Customs Amendment Bill 2017 that allows the removal of import duty on Vehicular spare parts.
The Mandatory Towing Levy Policy was passed by the NDC but because of its political implications for the 2016 general election Mahama Administration refused to implement it.
If not for corruption and nepotism why should only one Private Company, Road Safety Management Limited(RSML), a subsidiary of Jospong Group of Companies be awarded with such contract to collect mandatory road toll levy of GHC 20 to GHC 200 from already the suffering Ghanaians effectively July 1, 2017.
The Mandatory Towing Levy is a useless Law and President Akufo-Addo must immediately halt the implementation of this bogus and unproductive Law.
The appointees of President Akufo-Addo at the DVLA and National Road Safety Commission are joking with the Power the Party struggle to obtain from Ghanaians in 2016.
Any Policy or Law that has the potency to send the NPP back to opposition must be amended or cancelled by President Akufo-Addo and Parliament.
