Majority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu has condemned the former Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Inusah Fuseini for failing to inform his successors about an audiovisual recording device in his office.
He doubted if the former minister acted in good faith and questioned the rationale behind the act.
“If indeed it is true, why would he not alert the minister following after him? If it’s predicated on open conscience why would he [Inusah Fuseini] not inform the person who took over from him?” he quizzed.
The audiovisual recording device was uncovered by national security operatives during a routine screening exercise at the Ministry in June. Inusah Fuseini has confessed that he planted the device while he occupied the office.
According to Insuah Fuseini, the recorder with a camera, a storage unit and a suspected transmitter has been there for at least three years.
But speaking with 3FM News, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu who also doubles as Minister for Parliamentary Affairs said he has asked that his office be cleaned for fear of falling a victim.
“It could happen to anybody so I have invited experts to come and sweep my place [office] for me and they’re going to do that” he said.
