The late Major Maxwell Mahama who was lynched by a mob in Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region while in service goes home today.
He will be buried today, Friday June 9, at the Osu Military Cemetery in Accra.
A burial service with “full military honours” is underway at the State House, followed by a procession to Osu Military Cemetery for internment.
There will be a final funeral rites to be held at the Forecourt of the State House immediately after the burial.
Several dignitaries are in attendance, with Vice President Mahamadu Bawumia, former Presidents John Mahama and John Kufuor present to pay their last respects, along with a number of Members of Parliament and other State Officials.
