Former President John Mahama recently took a step of love when he paid a visit to veteran comedian Asonaba Kwaku Darko popularly known as Super OD. Mahama visits Super OD few months after the leadership of the Ghana Actors Guild as well as the Agona East MP paid visits to the ailing veteran comedian.

Mr. Mahama who called on the 82-year-old ailing entertainer in his home at Agona Swedru in the Central Region of Ghana on Sunday, November 5, disclosed his gesture to the public via his official Facebook page on Monday. Posting some photos from the visit, Mahama wrote:
“I was in Swedru on Sunday to visit my friend Super OD. He is such a good company always.”
The former president’s kind gesture comes few months after Super OD received a similar call from leadership of Ghana Actors Guild who presented the ailing actor with a mobile phone and an undisclosed amount of money towards the end of July this year.

Prior to the Actors’ Guild donation, the actor had also received a donation from Agona East MP, Queentar Pokuah Sawyerr while she toured her constituency. The MP who was touched by the actor’s state of health paid him a visit and presented assorted items to him, including an electronic wheelchair and cash.
Super OD is a veteran comic actor whose acting career spanned between the 70’s and the 90’s. He was very popular for his roles in local Ghanaian series, Akan Drama on GTV. The veteran gained more popularity for his unparalleled humorous acting roles with the Oppong Drama Group which later became known as Osofo Dadzie Group.
However, Super OD is currently suffering from a severe health condition which has made him unable to walk. The actor had earlier this year revealed how his knees have grown to be weak, making it virtually impossible for him to walk. Although the diagnosis of his ailment has not been made known to the public, Super OD has been receiving help from Ghanaians, with former president Mahama reported to be one of his prominent helpers.
