Member of Parliament for Assin Central has accused former John Dramani Mahama of supervising corruption during his time as President of the Republic.
According to him, the former President sat aloof while several calculated acts of corruption were undertaken by officials of his government – a situation the Assin Central legislator equates to an ‘abuse of powers’ by the former President.
Speaking on Adom TV’s Badwam programme Tuesday morning, Mr. Agyapong criticized the former president for allowing his appointees to push through bloated contracts in a bid to develop the country’s infrastructure.
He says several road projects the NDC government claims to have fixed in the past 8 years remain unmotorable, a situation that leaves him wondering where all the huge sums of money dedicated to such projects went.
“The whole country has 72,800 kilometers of road, out of this only 23 percent has been done, the arrears we have here is 56,560 kilometers, the way you are talking about how Mahama has constructed the road where are they, But all this have been paid” he stated.
He urged President Akufo-Addo to bring to book individuals who have caused financial loss to the state in the execution of such projects.
