Kwesi Botchwey report -As it appears, former president, Mahama is not bothered about the findings of the Kwesi Botchwey committee assigned to seek answers and solutions regarding the NDC’s massive defeat in the 2016 elections.
The former president has nonsensed the Kwesi Botchwey report which investigated why the National Democratic Congress (NDC) lost miserably to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Following their defeat in 2016, the NDC has been doing a lot of examination of conscience on the possible causes of their loss.

A thirteen-member committee led by Prof. Kwesi Botchwey was tasked to investigate what accounted for the party’s historic defeat after the former President lost to President Nana Addo.
This committee was also expected to provide political analysis that will help the party choose a good leader ahead of 2020 elections. The 13 member committee was formed by the NDC’s Functional Executive Committee (NEC), and approved by its Council of Elders.
Key members of the major opposition party had been at loggerheads over the possible reason for their defeat in the previous elections.
Varying opinions from different people flooded the media resulting to a seeming uproar in the opposition party, with senior members picking sides regarding the possible cause of the NDC 2016 defeat. While many backed Mahama’s methods and policies, others had some correctional comments to make.
After months of touring and holding consultative meetings with interest groups and individuals across the country, the committee came up with a 455-page report and submitted its findings in June 2017.

Kwesi Botchwey proceeded to feed the media with some seven recommendations contained in the report.
Following the reports, some media outlets, including the Daily Guide newspaper and Accra-based Joy FM, who seemed to have gotten a hold of it made public some findings in the report.
Their reports pointed to Stan Dogbe and Elvis Afyiie Ankrah as John Mahama’s downfall. The Kwesi Botchwey report allegedly described Mahama as a naked president who was deceived by his close appointees.
It also cited some officials at the Flagstaff House during Mahama’s tenure of shortchanging journalists by cutting down budgeted stipends for the presidential press corps and pocketing the rest.
However, these have only amused the former president who has shown no sign of concern towards the reports.
Although Mahama did not respond directly to aspects of the report against him and his appointees, he tweeted on Tuesday evening jabbing the media over their obsession for their newly found “handbook.”
John Mahama in a sniggery comment on his Twitter account on Tuesday night said the report appeared to have been adopted as a “new handbook for addressing Ghana’s challenges.”
