Former John Dramani Mahama was declared in 2012 by then former Electoral Commissioner Dr. Afari Gyan as winner of the presidential election.
He polled 5.57 million or 50.70 percent of the 10,995,262 valid votes cast to edge out his closest challenger, Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party who polled 5.24 million votes or 47.74 percent in that year’s presidential polls.
His victory was described as resounding but a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Lord Hamah says John Mahama became President by accident.
He made the comments in an interview with Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio 8.5Fm.
The political activist in the interview said, he [Mahama] was a president by accident and he also failed the nation and could not perform creditably as expected by those who entrusted into his hands the management of Ghana.
The NDC had no message to sell to Ghanaians during the 2016 general elections.
According to him, he joined the NDC based on conviction but the current happenings in the party calls for serious reorganization.
Lord Hamah told the host that he saw the defeat of the NDC coming and warned them but they failed to listen to him.
