The Bundesliga side have promptly withdrawn their contract extension offer for the player whose deal with the top-flight club expires at the end of the season.
In a hugely damaging press statement, the fed-up Bundesliga side revealed why they sacked the right-back on Saturday night revealing that Opare had consistently lied to the club with breathtaking arrogance.
He is now free to join clubs like Liecester City and Schalke who will now have doubts after his disciplinary problems emerged in the terse press statement released on Saturday.
The Ghana international, who was angling for move before the transfer window shut three days ago, was fired on Saturday night after he was exposed to be secretly talking to the English side over a move.
Ghana’s leading soccer news outfit Ghanasoccernet.com also published photos of him talking to German side Schalke secretly three days even though he was under contract with rivals Augsburg.
Opare was in talks with German clubs among others and was secretly caught in a meeting with his manager and Christian Heidel of Schalke .
The controversial defender, who has a long history and mountain of disciplinary problems, launched scathing social media insults on Ghanasoccernet.com describing the report as rubbish even though it was true.
Now Augsburg have responded by sacking him and removing him from their squad, exposing the mountain of disciplinary problems they have contained from Opare.
“Daniel Opare has repeatedly lied to us despite the confrontation with facts. Furthermore, he has several times gone against the Code of Conduct within of the team,” Stefan Reuter, managing director of Augusburg said.
“FC Augsburg stands for values such as down-to-earthness, teamwork, reliability and honesty. Recently, Daniel Opare has repeatedly violated these values,”
“For this reason, the FCA has withdrawn its offer of a contract extension of expiring at the end of the season contract.” the press release of FC Augsburg added.
Leicester City remain interested in the sacked Augsburg full-back Daniel Opare after the transfer window shut.
The Ghana international was getting tracked by Claude Puel before the window closed and he will consider swooping on a free in the summer.
Opare, who is approaching the end of his contract, held talks with Schalke on deadline day but did not seal a move.
He can talk to other clubs but Augsburg have been upset with the discussions after they were revealed in the German media.
Leicester and Stoke are the Premier League clubs who want him and RB Leipzig have shown interest in keeping him in the Bundesliga.
