The Premier League Board (PLB) has announced the indefinite postponement of the Match Day 23 clash between rivals Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.
The match was scheduled to be played on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
However, the entire Kotoko team was involved in a deadly accident Wednesday night while returning to Kumasi from a 0-1 loss to Inter Allies in midweek.
The team was obviously going to prepare for the crucial encounter.
In a statement issued on Thursday by PLB Chairman Ashford Tettey-Oku, the match has been postponed indefinitely.
A delegation from the Board followed up with a visit to the team in the hospital.
Clubs have been directed to wear red and black arm bands for the rest of the weekend’s games while a minute’s silence will be observed at all venues.
