WAFA have stretched their lead at the top of the Ghana Premier League to three points after beating Liberty Professionals 2-1 in a game watched by new Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah.
Togo international Komla Agbegniadan scored in each half to render Samuel Sarfo’s goal for Liberty a mere consolation.
The result keeps WAFA top of the table and gives them a three-point advantage over Aduana Stars who had to settle for 1-1 draw against Kotoko.
Zakaria Mumuni gave Aduana a first half lead, Kotoko then missed a penalty before Abas Mohammed equalised for them in the second half.
Kotoko are now without a win in six games and a staggering nine points behind the leaders WAFA.
Draws were the theme of the day in the Ghana Premier League with five of the eight games ending with no winners.
That included a six-goal thriller in Tamale where Bolga All Stars pegged Hearts of Oak back twice to share the spoils in a 3-3 draw.
Accra Great Olympics were one of the few sides to lose, going down 1-2 away at Tema Youth
