Kanu Nwankwo 1 Billion Lotto -Nigerian football legend Kanu Nwankwo has launched the N1 billion Jackpot Lotto to Support Kanu Heart Foundation (KHF) which was inaugurated in 2000.
Kanu launched the biggest lotto in Africa to raise funds for the foundation to help build a specialist cardiac hospital in Abuja. The Kanu Nwankwo 1 Billion Lotto offers a jackpot starting at 1 billion naira and will be run in conjunction with AfroMillonsLotto.

It offers twice-weekly draws with bigger jackpots than all the lotteries in Nigeria combined, as well as being the largest jackpot anywhere in Africa.
Per the jackpot, Twenty percent of every ticket sold will go directly to KHF to help it continue its work ensuring underprivileged children across Africa with heart problems get the treatment they need.
The jackpot starting at N1 billion and will be run in conjunction with AfroMillonsLotto (www. AfroMillionsLotto.com)
Since its launch in 2000, KHF has helped not just people in Nigeria but also paid for 538 children to be treated at facilities throughout the world.
Kanu who commented on the lotto initiative expressed so much excitement over the achievement and called for support from everyone. He urged people to support the jackpot by buying tickets, in order to help build a new heart hospital for the West African country.

Kanu Nwankwo during an interaction with BBC a few months ago had talked about his plans to build more hospitals in Nigeria and four other countries in Africa.
The 40-year-old is looking at establishing hospitals in east, north and southern Africa. He also called for financial support from stakeholders as the projects cannot be carried out by one person.
Shortly after he won Olympic gold for Nigeria in 1996, Nigeria’s Kanu Nwankwo was sidelined for nine months when doctors at his Italian club Inter Milan’s found a heart defect. Kanu resumed after a successful heart surgery in Ohio in the United States in 1997.
Following his recovery, he launched the Kanu Heart Foundation, a non-profit organization designed to help children born with heart defects get the corrective heart surgeries that they need. The former Arsenal striker had another heart surgery in 2014.
KHF which is Kanu’s way of giving back to the society is a charity organization that helps less privileged individuals who are suffering from various heart defects.
