As the world commemorates Fathers’ day today [Sunday], former President, John Dramani Mahama has dedicated the occasion to the late Soldier, Major Maxwell Adam Mahama who was killed in the line of duty at Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region.
The former President took to his Twitter handle to honour Major Mahama, saying “dedicating this fathers day to Maj. Max Mahama & all servicemen who’ve fallen in the line of duty & their children robbed of daddy’s joy.”
The deceased, an officer of the 5th Infantry Battalion, was lynched and partly burnt by some youth of Denenkyira-Obuasi in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region on Monday, May 29, 2017, on suspicion that he was an armed robber. He was subsequently laid to rest on June 9.
His death has since rekindled the debate on mob justice, and the need to end the canker.
He left behind a wife and two children
