National organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) John Boadi, has promised to pay monthly allowances to all constituency secretaries if voted as the General Secretary in the upcoming national executive election.
He said the party constitution provides for constituency general secretaries to get monthly allowances and would ensure they are all paid when voted for as general secretary in June.
Mr. Boadu gave the promise during a campaign tour of the Upper East where he visited all the 15 constituencies in the region.
He expressed his commitment to empowering and resourcing members of the party, particularly those in the grassroots.
That, he said, is the only leadership of the NPP can inspire its members to work for the party to remain in government for long.
Mr. Boadu was very vocal about empowering members and resourcing party structures and executives to give off their best.
He specially addressed the issue of funding within the party.
In that regard, he said, he would ensure resources are readily made available to all constituencies for running the affairs of the party. He also stressed on the need to compensate hardworking party executives to boost their morale.
Mr. Boadu indicated that it is part of his plans to set up a special unit at the party headquarters that will be responsible for liaising with deliverable ministries for job opportunities for members.
He pitched himself as the most suitable candidate for the job of a general secretary citing the party’s 2016 electoral victory as an instance where he was a National Organizer and still acted as General Secretary and Director of Operations for the campaign.
In line with John Boadu’s earlier promise to assist in the construction of party offices in all regions and constituencies that do not have offices, he donated GHc 10,000 for the construction of constituency offices in Bolga East and Bongo.
He also pledged to assist in building a permanent party office in Bawku, Garu and Tempane constituencies.
