The African Gospel Music & Media Awards 2017 (AGMMA)was a successfully held in London on Saturday 03 June 2017.
Notable gospel artistes across Africa were present at the awards night which was culmination of its year long activities including seminars, resource and networking events, regional concerts and career guidance.
VGMA reigning artiste of year, Joe Mettle was adjudged Artiste of Excellence-West Africa, songstress, Diana Antwi Hamilton was awarded Artiste of Excellence-Europe and Community Award, Ohemaa Mercy, Nii Okai and Danny Korsah were honoured with Leadership Award.
Multiple award winning gospel act, Sonnie Badu’s ‘Soundz of Afrika album won Album of Excellence and Trailblazer Awards respectively. Other Ghanaian gospel stars who excelled on the night were Bro. Philemon (Artiste of Excellence- Asia/Australia/NZ), Jerry Bonsu and Edmund Gyawu were both honoured with Levites Award.
The African Gospel Music & Media Awards (AGMMA) is the premier gospel event that recognises the immense gospel talent that exists within the African gospel music and Christian media fraternity and beyond, and honours and rewards them accordingly at its annual awards event.
The awards seek to unearth, encourage, motivate and inspire musicians and media outfits to aspire to attain excellence in their ministries and businesses, and to be of better service to the kingdom.
The AGMMA is produced by 1615 Media, a UK based Christian Media and Events Company with international affiliations in the media and music industry.
