Ghana Integrity Initiative is demanding full scale inquiry into Gender and Social Protection Minister’s bribery allegation against Northern Regional Chairman of the party, Daniel Bugri Naabu.
Speaking in an interview, Linda Ofori-Kwafo said the issues raised in Otiko Afisah Djaba’s remarks go beyond her party’s jurisdiction adding, “they are matters which have direct link to our governance system hence the need for a full scale inquiry to unravel all the facts.”
According to Ofori-Kwafo, ”the Gender Minister cannot throw out these serious allegations without using state institutions to prove the authenticity of the issues she has raised knowing very well her integrity is at stake.”
According to the GII official, “the allegations can dent the image of the government hence the need for an immediate inquiry to clear the government of complicity.”
She suggested that if government fails to institute independent investigations to ascertain the facts, individuals can lodge formal complaint with the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice for the matter to be investigated.
