Minister of Information, Mustapha Hamid has lauded the Media General Group for its contribution towards strengthening of Ghana’s democracy through news reports.
He made these comments when management of the Media General Group paid a courtesy call on him in Accra.
“I commend Media General for standing as the leading English station in Ghana and contributing to strengthening the country’s democracy.”
The Media General group is the parent company of Ghana’s leading English television channel TV3, Onua 95.1 FM, 3FM 92.7, Akoma 87.9FM, Connect 97.1FM, 3news.com and Adesa Productions Limited.
Media General platforms pride themselves in the provision of unbiased, comprehensive news, educative and entertaining programs.
News programs and reports of the Media General news team have contributed to the development of deprived communities in Ghana.
Initiatives such as MG Radio’s ‘Let there be light campaign’ is one of the latest development oriented programmes which is also focused on giving back to society by getting streets across Accra lighted.
Minister for Information, Mustapha Hamid praised the group for its balanced reportage over the years.
He further urged the Media General Group to stick to accurate reportage and not align with any political party.
Group CEO of Media General Pearl Esua-Mensah noted, the Group is focused on churning out more regional news programs and reports in order to meet the needs of Ghanaians all over the country.
“We have a national agenda. When it comes to some of the things we bring out, government may not even know that is what is going on and in bringing it out you get the opportunity to resolve the issues at stake.”
