Nana Opoku Kwarteng, the father of popular artiste Ebony Reigns, has expressed sadness over the death of her daughter.
He was obviously short of words on Friday morning when journalists caught up with him at his Dansoman residence.
Speaking to Media General’s Owusu Worae, Nana Kwarteng said he heard the news on radio just like most people.
“I actually didn’t believe that until it was confirmed by the Regional Police Commander or something that my girl is dead.”
He told our entertainment reporter that the last time he spoke with his daughter was on Wednesday.
She told him about her visit to her UK-based mum in the Brong Ahafo Region.
It was upon return from the visit that the award-wining songstress lost her life.
She died after the jeep in which they were travelling – registered AS 497-16 – rammed into a VIP bus at Abesewa in the Region.
She was tipped to win the topmost award at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards this year with some already asking for the award to be handed to her posthumously.
According to her father, Ebony was indeed a “big star” and “was splendid”.
“You can’t take it away from her.”
He said he is yet to come to terms with the news.
Meanwhile, brother to the late artiste says he is believing in a miracle to bring his sister back to life again.
