The Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission in charge of finance, Ms Georgina Opoku Amankwa has debunked stories circulating in the media purporting that she has responded to Charlotte Osei over allegations that she single handedly signed a GHC 40 million contract on behalf of the commission.
Ms Opoku Amankwa in a letter dated July 25, 2017 asked persons who authored the fictitious response to desist from the act adding that she is studying the allegations leveled against her by the chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Charlotte Osei with her lawyers.
She said “as a lawyer and a senior public servant, I am mindful of what to say, when to say and where to say it anything that affects my person and my work….”
She has however responded to the GHC480,000 money that was missing from the endowment fund which is currently being investigated by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
She however said at the right time, she will state her position on the recent developments on going at the Electoral Commission.
