Talented Kidz 8 & Christian Morgan influenced my decision to pursue further studies in law, TV3’s broadcast journalist, Spencer K. B. Mensah has revealed.
The inclusion of Christian Morgan in Talented Kidz 8 meant a lot more than an entertainment show, according to SpreadLove’s founder Spencer Kwabena Boateng Mensah.
Spencer indicated that Christian and the show made a great influence in his academic endeavor as he has embarked on a three year LLB program to acquire more knowledge and be in a better position to continue advocating for social inclusion using the media as a tool.
The 25 year old journalist is one of the 63 fresh students at the Faculty of Law at the University of Cape Coast.
Together with his organisational members, Spencer groomed Christian from Cape Coast where he reports from, and presented him for the show in 2016 as means of advocating for social inclusion but was kicked out in the final audition.
On the 2nd attempt the following year, the child (who lives with total visual impairment) became the 2nd runner up in the show making him an icon for SpreadLove.
“Morgan’s success informs me there is more we could do as society to achieve inclusive participation in national and international activities,” he told 3news.com.
Spencer added that ”using the media as a tool and learning the law as a backing force,” he prayed that together with his team and the people around him, ”we could be changing lives and putting smiles on the faces of the marginalized in society.”.
With his international experience in children and journalism, he believes knowing the law would widen his horizon in disability, juvenile and media issues.
