The Uptown Energy Boss, Solomon Adu Antwi popularly known in showbiz cycle as Yaa Pono has sparked debate as he confidently declared that he played more shows in Ghana than any other artiste in 2017.
In an interview with Showbiz927 host Kenneth Addo on 3FM 92.7, the ‘fake’ hitmaker boasted how he conquered all the artistes in Ghana by playing 300 shows with his popular song ‘Gbee Naabu’ which was a hit in 2017.
He said although ‘Gbee Naabu’ was a ‘diss’ song, Ghanaians jumped onto it which made it a hit song. This, he said, helped him to get more bookings for shows last year, and also made him standout to be the most booked artiste in 2017.
Meanwhile, Yaapono claims he is not bothered by the fact that he was not nominated under the VGMA best rapper category. He said he is rather challenged to push harder and come out with songs that Ghanaians will jam onto them.
He is predicting that his album ‘Faster than gods’ will win best album of the year together with the best rapper of the year next year.
