Ghana Black Star skipper, Asamoah Gyan has revealed that he feels proud and happy about the construction of the Accra Academy astro turf pitch anytime he passes by.
The old student of the schoo made this known when he visited the turf pitch to check on how the construction was progressing.
The $200,000 project which was started in March 2016 is almost near completion, with its commissioning next on the agenda.
The on-loan Al Ahli attacker expressed delight about the progress of the project so far, insisting it was a proud moment in his career to be the man behind the project.
Gyan also said he feels he is blessed and proud giving back to the society.
“I am very happy for myself and what I have done. Anytime I am passing I feel proud of myself and feel I am blessed.”
The Ghanaian superstar will be honored with a doctorate degree next month by Alfred Nobel University and to the striker this will propel him to do more.
He also expressed delight in the fact that people are recognizing what he is doing.
“This will urge me to do more. I hope the Almighty God gives me long life to help others.”
He also used the opportunity to have a closed door meeting with the headmaster of the school after inspecting the grass.
Asamoah Gyan began his football career by playing for the Accra Academy Senior High school team, before joining Ghana Premier League side Liberty Professionals.
Asamoah has had a fantastic career in Europe and for his country becoming the first player to score 50 goals for the Black Stars.
