Father of the late music star, Ebony Reigns has revealed that he barely knew the soldier who died together with the musician as his daughter’s bodyguard.
“Interestingly about three or four days back, this bodyguard called me and we were talking about something and he identified himself as the soldier man bodyguard who guards my girl. That was the first time speaking with him, since that time I haven’t had any interactions. Three days back, she did tell me she was going to see mum and I asked if she was driving, she said no, I’m going with my bodyguard who’s a soldier, my driver and a friend and that’s all. I’ve never met with him since, I don’t know him, I haven’t met him,” Nana Poku Kwarteng told Joy News.
Meanwhile, the Military High Command has commenced investigations to establish how a military personnel became a private bodyguard to late Songstress, Ebony Reigns who died in a car crash on Thursday, February 8.
The soldier was found dead together with Ebony and another lady after their jeep collided head-on with a VIP bus on the Sunyani-Kumasi road.
There have been reports suggesting that he was acting as bodyguard for the dancehall artiste.
Checks with the Public Affairs Directorate of the Ghana Armed Forces indicated that Lance Corporal Francis Atsu Vondee was serving in the Ghana Air force.
However, records indicate that he was not officially detailed to carry out personal protection duties for Ebony.
