Ghana defender Daniel Opare poured insults on Ghanasoccernet.com for reporting on his dealings in the transfer window only to be sacked just 48 hours later by his German side Augsburg for dishonesty over the issue.
The controversial right-back slammed Ghana’s leading soccer news outfit as ‘Stop publishing false news, Rubbish’ over reports of Augsburg’s unhappiness over his dealings in the transfer window.
Opare was caught red-handed talking to officials of German side Schalke on Monday at Dusseldorf Airport and when Ghanasoccernet.com published the news the defender sought to deceive the public by attacking the only website that promotes his activities in the Bundesliga.
Opare has now been sacked by Augsburg for gross indiscipline and dishonesty for consistently lying to the German side over his sneaky activities to leave the club under the cloak of secrecy.
The Bundesliga side have promptly withdrawn their contract extension offer for the player whose deal with the top-flight club expires at the end of the season.
In a hugely damaging press statement, the fed-up Bundesliga side revealed why they sacked the right-back on Saturday night revealing that Opare had consistently lied to the club with breathtaking arrogance.
Opare said the below things about Ghanasoccernet even before his club exposed him:
The Ghana international was getting tracked by Leicester City before the window closed and he will consider swooping on a free in the summer, says The Sun.
Opare, who is approaching the end of his contract, held talks with Schalke on deadline day but did not seal a move.
He can talk to other clubs but Augsburg have been upset with the discussions after they were revealed in the German media.
Leicester and Stoke are the Premier League clubs who want him and RB Leipzig have shown interest in keeping him in the Bundesliga.
