According to reports, the video of nurses going live on Facebook went viral after Ghanaian media outfit Adom FM, shared the video on their own Facebook page. A greater section of Ghanaians was of the view that their acts were unprofessional and called for proper sanctioning by authorities.
The management of the hospital who also deemed it unethical and irresponsible on their part sent the Trudy and Ramatu packing. Confirming the sacking on Accra-based Adom FM, the Medical Director of Royal MMR Hospital, said the hospital felt very embarrassed by the conduct of the two thus they had no choice than to part ways with them.
The Director also said that Trudy and Ramatu were aware their conduct is against hospital rules, creating more grounds for their dismissal.
It was discovered after the embarrassing incident that the two nurses were employed as health assistants at the Royal MMR Hospital. As with every occupation, there is always the presence of a code of conduct which the staff are expected to adhere to. But this was not the case for the two nurses.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) says it has launched investigations into the matter.
Agitations over the video were aroused further after a video of one of the nurses, Trudy with her boyfriend, Dahlin Gage, a Ghanaian musician also surfaced. In the video, the two were seen playfully engaging in sensual foreplay. In the video, Dahlin Gage is seen aggressively massaging the breast of his girlfriend Trudy.
Reacting to the whole saga, Trudy took to her social media timeline, to state that, the video was streamed way back in April 2017 and that she is astonished as to how it only got noticed in July 2017. The dismissed health assistant reacted calmly over her dismissal and hoped for a better tomorrow.
