Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Professor Mike Aaron Ocquaye, says Ghana will not decriminalise homosexuality.
The Rt. Hon. Speaker stated categorically that Ghana will not consider changing laws that will allow homosexuality legal.
Prof. Ocquaye said this when human rights group, Amnesty International, paid a courtesy call on him at Parliament in Accra yesterday.
The Rt. Hon Speaker who was emphatic said recognising the rights of homosexuals in Ghana could lead to bestiality and incest in future.
“Is Amnesty International going to tell us that many countries are doing that so we too have to accept homosexuality, to accept bestiality because it is also becoming a human right in some countries”, he o[pined.
“The right for a human being to sleep with an animal is also becoming a human right and we are tired with some of these things and we must be frank about it,” Prof. Ocquaye stated.
