Family of the Late Adams Mahama, Upper East Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party(NPP), says it welcomes fresh evidence to the ongoing criminal proceeding involving the death of the late chairman.
The maverick Northern regional chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party Daniel Bugri Naabu has accused two ministers in the Akufo-Addo government of being involved in the plot that led to the murder of Adams Mahama.
“…Otiko has been a controversial woman in the party. As I’m telling you, this Adams issue, she was deeply involved, so because of that most of us who know her will call her a controversial woman.
“You’ll be surprised that some of these people who masterminded the killing of Adams have come to take positions in the government … like the Upper East Regional Minister. He was deeply involved in the masterminded killing of Adams,” Mr. Naabu told Radio XYZ.
However, the family told Kasapa 102.5 FM that they are weighing all options to the final determination of the matter, and hence will not discard as witness anyone who has knowledge relevant to the event leading to the killing of late Adams.
Spokesperson for the family, Muazu Issaka, who made this appeal in an interaction with Fiifi Banson on Kasapa 102.5 FM, Tuesday, May 9, 2017, said the family is counting on Chairman Bugri Naabu to assist them fight for justice.
“As far as the case is still pending in court, we plead with anyone that has tangential evidence to the substantive case to tender it in court, but we will not ask the court to invite anybody. Chairman Bugri Naabu knows late Adams very well, and to some extent they were friends. Both were Regional Chairmen of the party and were attending meetings together. So if he(Naabu) has said he has some evidence we might not know, we’ll urge him to go ahead and help us get to the root of the matter. We want justice for late Adams Mahama. Even if the court had ruled on the matter already, and we were still not okay with the justice carried, we would have appealed the matter based on the fresh evidence that may come up. So we are asking Bugri Naabu never to hesitate to adduce the fresh evidence in our case which may to a large extent impact on the case pending.”
