History beckons on Accra Hearts of Oak when they clash with arch rivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, on Sunday to play in a two-legged Ghana@60 Anniversary match slated for the Accra Sports Stadium and the Baba Yara Stadium respectively.
Dubbed: ‘Ghana@60 Presidents Cup,’ Media Relations Officer of Ghana@60 Committee, Mr. Jefferson Sackey, explained that the match forms part of celebrations to mark the year-long celebration that begun on the 6th March, 2017 at the Black Star Square in Accra.
Matches between the two clubs have always served as memorable delicacy for fans who are expected to throng the Accra Sports Stadium to cheer their teams to clinch victory and also enjoy the privilege of watching past players of Hearts and Kotoko play against each other in a curtain raiser.
With an appearance fee totalling GH₵100,000 donated by Vivo Energy Ghana, distributors and marketers of Shell petroleum products, and support from main sponsors, Hisense, the match is expected to witness the competiveness it always offers fans.
The Phobians beat Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League and revenge will be vital for the Porcupine Warriors who felt robbed after a controversial penalty was awarded against them by referee Samuel Suker at the same venue.
Winners of the match will pocket a whopping GHC50,000 while the Man of the Match will take home a gigantic flat screen Led TV from sponsors, Hisense.
