Coaches of premiership clubs, Accra Hearts of Oak, Aduana Stars, West African Football Academy are up against each other for the maiden Coach of the Month Award.
Yusif Abubakar of Aduana Stars, Frank Elliot Nuttal of Accra Hearts of Oak and WAFA’s Klas Rasmussen are competing for the award by the Premier League Board that seeks to recognise coaches who perform exceptionally well in a particular month.
The three were shortlisted based on their performance for the month of April
Yusif Abubakar of Aduana managed a 1-1 draw against Asante Kotoko, won 3-0 against Tema youth, 2-1 in Accra against Great Olympics and recorded a goalless draw at Dormaa against Wa All Stars in the month under review.
The expatriate coach did a marvellous job by recording a 2-1 victory against Liberty Professionals, won 2-0 against Great Olympics, 2-1 against Elmina Sharks. WAFA started the month of April with 3-0 against Ashanti Gold.
He led the team to draw 3-3 against Bolga. Hearts recorded 1-1 score line against debutants Elmina Sharks, won 1-0 against Ashgold at Obuasi, won 4-2 against Bechem United in Accra.
The winner will be announced by the PLB next week and will be presented with prizes from Nasco Electronics, sponsors of the award.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) earlier this week announced a partnership agreement with Nasco Electronics as its electronic partner for the Premier League, sponsoring the innovative Man of the Match, Player of the Month and Coach of the Month awards for the Ghana Premier League.
