The body of the 12-year old boy who was beheaded at Bogoso in the Prestea Huni Valley District of the Western Region has been retrieved three days after the incident that shocked the region.
His body was lying prostrate in his school uniform in a cassava farm behind some building blocks, with his backpack still strapped to his back.
The body, which was retrieved by the family of the deceased during a search Thursday, had swollen and started to decompose. It had attracted flies and ants.
Some family members could not hold back their tears when the body was eventually found at Baakoyemobor near where the boy lived.
A pupil of Grace International School at Bogoso, Ebenezer Tetteh was allegedly beheaded by Alex Tetteh and one other on Tuesday. Tetteh is currently in police custody assisting in investigation.
He was arrested by the people of Sankro, a village near Dixcove when he was searching for a potential buyer for the decapitated head on Tuesday.
Western Region Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service, ASP Olivia Adiku, the suspect would be put before court on Friday to seek a remand to conclude investigations into the case.
She told Takoradi-based Connect FM Thursday that the father of the deceased has identified the body and given a statement to the Police.
According to her, the suspect had refused to tell the police where the body, claiming he was handed the head by someone to find a buy for it.
